MEET BILL AND KAREN NOVAK
Who are Bill and Karen Novak?

Bill and Karen Novak are the faces behind BNK quarter horses. Since getting married on June 6, 1977 they have worked together raising and riding a few very good horses. Along with raising, riding, and competing with their horses they have run Williston Saddlery since October, 1979. They sell everything from name brand saddles and tack to Kiefer Built trailers and Purina Feeds. Both Bill and Karen truly enjoy the company of their horses. Karen enjoys trail and cutting classes and especially likes horses with "power steering". Bill enjoys reining, cutting and free style reining.
Along with running the store, Bill attended CSU in Fort Collins to become certified in collecting and processing equine semen for shipment as well as an AI refresher course for mares. He was first certified by ABS in 1971. Since teaming together they have always stood a stallion to the public. The first stallion was Lightening Pride with ROM Points in 5 events. Next was Quincy Dee Twist shown in cutting and earning over 40 points in reining, qualifying for the AQHA World Show in 1981 and 1982 and finishing in the top 10 in 1982.
Now they have Genuine Diamond Doc, a full blood brother to Shining Spark! They purchased him as a three year old and completed his Superior in reining along with qualifying for the AQHA World Show in 2002-2003 with the good help of Joey Jorgenson of Fisher, MN. After completing his superior reining, they put him in the capable hands of JD Yates, AQHA Professional Horseman of the Year 2005. He has qualified "Jr." for the world in team roping along with earning over 50 points in 2006, the best earning 14 heading & 14 heeling points with the Sioux Empire show in S.D.

Bill and Karen don't raise a lot of horses but try to have a few really good ones all the time. They sell a few and try to help their clients sell those sired by their horses if they choose to.
